SAILING MENORCA -BALEARIC ISLANDS SPAIN

We spent a summer participating in the many wooden boat & classic regatta’s in the Balearic Islands. Sailing thru these islands is a must but one month gives you a dusting. As fall was fast approaching we decided to keep our boat in Mahon Menorca. It is the second deepest natural port in the world. When we found out it was were Nelson kept his fleet, we knew it would be good enough for us.

so many coves, caves, cliffs and water to explore

the island is dotted with Talayotic settlements, caves & megalithic sites that date back to 2000bc

We spent about a month sailing around this island. We loved the laid back feel of the island and the real city of Ciutadella. We wandered the back streets and enjoyed the architecture way of life.

We anchored off this quarry. This was the most amazing dingy landing I have ever used. city dwellers came here to fish, sun and swim.

Another cove we spent days in.

At this cove I heard a man play the guitar & wail to the heavens. He seemed to have found the perfect cave to occupy for his week long summer getaway from it all.

It is in places like this, I charge my battery for the year to come. It is how I am able to get so much done in this life time. Laid back islands super charge me for greater movement & flow. Menorca is the kind place.
